Canberra Innovation Network (CBRIN) is holding its third annual Investor Showcase on March 21, 2023, at the CBRIN premises in Canberra.

It will feature some of the most promising local and regional startups seeking seed and series A funding, including several with patents/deep technology advantages.

The showcase is designed for venture investors to meet and invest in innovative companies in their area.

Following are some of the pitches to be showcased this year:

  • AgScent: A regional NSW agritech company that developed non-invasive and cost-effective breath diagnostic device to improve livestock and workers’ productivity, health, and well-being.
  • Aurabox: A cloud-based medical imaging storage and viewing platform that enables doctors to access imaging from multiple providers in one place.
  • Dentroid: Developing the first in-mouth laser-enabled robotic device for dentistry – uses lasers to induce anesthesia, replacing needles for skin and dental procedures.
  • FuturifAI: Provides a no-code web platform to simplify space mission operations by enabling satellite operators to handle more complex missions
  • Miiroko: A hair care product company providing an alternative to harsh chemicals and single-use plastics of the products sold at supermarkets.
  • PPB Technology: An early-stage startup revolutionising food safety and quality testing. PPB Tech’s “Cybertongue” solution delivers laboratory quality results on-site in minutes for food processing customers.

All presenting teams have investor traction, some with defensible technology.

CBRIN engages with 500+ local startups every year. They provide workshop programs, one-on-one coaching, mentor connections, the Griffin Accelerator, and more to empower entrepreneurs.

Following the first Investor Showcase in 2021, the participating companies raised more than $20 million within three months.

This year’s showcase is expected to be even better, with 15 up-and-coming startups presenting.

Last year, the audience included 20 out-of-town venture funds, representing more $2 billion of investment capital.

Canberra companies have raised over $200 million, with success stories like Instaclustr, Quantum Brilliance, Liquid Instruments, MCi Carbon, Penten, Samsara Eco, and Nourish Ingredients.

Attendees can also network with angel and venture investors during a working lunch.

Venture funds will also gain exposure to the broader Canberra entrepreneur community.

Investors can register their interest in attending by emailing craig.davis@cbrin.com.au.
