Melbourne link-in-bio startup Linktree has made three key US-based hires to build out its executive team under CEO and cofounder Alex Zaccaria.

Snap’s former VP of Engineering Farnaz Azmoodeh has signed on as chief technology officer, while the business now has its first chief product officer in former Headspace chief product and content officer at Sam Rogoway.

Rounding out the leadership team is Monica Austin as Linktree’s inaugural chief marketing officer. Hawaii-based Austin was mindfulness app Calm’s head of marketing and communications, and previously ran marketing for Netflix’s original content, including The Crown and Stranger things. She also led strategic entertainment partnerships at Meta.

Zaccaria said the trio will each have “a massive impact on our growth, product, Linkers, and how we realise the Linktree Vision”.

“Farnaz is a powerhouse technologist with over two decades of experience in leadership positions at some of the world’s biggest and most impactful technology companies,” he said.

“During her time at Snap, Farnaz led Snap’s AR monetisation org before creating Snap’s Platform Engineering initiative, consisting of engineers and data scientists. Her function consolidated disjointed engineering initiatives to solve specialised problems that empowered Snap’s 2000+ engineers to scale-up.”

She also spent a decade at Google, lives in Venice, California and will focus on building out engineering teams in the US, Australia and beyond.

Zaccaria praised the track record of Los Angeles-based Rogoway as a startup founder who’s spent 15 years at the intersection of content and technology.

“Sam has also founded and successfully sold multiple technology companies. In fact, he joined Headspace when the company acquired Victorious — a fan engagement platform for creators, which he founded and led as CEO and Head of Product,” he said.

“Sam also founded TripUp, a travel social network acquired by Sidestep/KAYAK.”

Zaccaria said Austin will continue to be based in Hawaii and as she builds out the marketing side of Linktree in the US and around the world.
